Jonathan Detwiler brings an extensive record of demonstrated successes in combining industry insights, innovative processes, technology capabilities and business acumen to drive desired outcomes across IT, Finance and Marketing. He combines strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills integrated with business acumen to forecast, report, and analyze the results of major product lines and services.
Most recently, Jon initiated and implemented projects that enhanced product functionality, changed product pricing, and enhanced product information supporting sales and service for multiple sales channels in the in the high tech business environment at Verizon. An illustration of that success includes working with diverse teams to create a new prepaid voice product by modifying the existing voice product, implementing controls that reduced fraud costs, and designing and launching a new, profitable international calling plan generating significant revenues since inception.
As an industry veteran, Jon researched the competitive landscape on telecommunications products to examine how these products may need to adapt new technology to stay relevant with changing demographics and trends that shape future markets. He evaluated the strategic direction of VOIP service and recommended product enhancements that strengthened its market appeal.
Leveraging his business mindset, Jon merged his advanced IT skills in data analysis with the building of financial models that predicted and delivered substantial cost savings in the first year after implementation of the project. He produced a prototype scorecard used in its subsequent automation. He further used data extracts from related systems to pinpoint and correct data discrepancies between the systems.
Jon managed a team of six product managers all charged with accountability to generate significant revenues. He supervised diverse audit teams performing financial, operational, and information systems audits for domestic and international affiliates. He supervised financial analysts to generate financial forecasts and accounting teams that reported financial results.
While pursuing his B.A. in Spanish from Ursinus College, Jon spent his junior year in Madrid, Spain where he experienced different cultural and political climates. Since his graduation, he has retained his passion and traveled extensively to many different countries and cultures for both business and leisure. During audit assignments in Mexico, he conducted his audit work in Spanish.
Jon's formal undergrad education also ignited a passion for business education, leading him to obtain
an MBA from Temple University with a major in Accounting. Subsequently, he added professional certifications as a CPA and a CISA to further enhance his business acumen. Those skills also served him well for his pro bono work as the treasurer of his church and as treasurer for a start-up local health clinic.
